These terms apply to mapleslice.com. Reading the site means accepting them. They are governed by Australian law and are written to sit alongside, not to displace, the rights the Australian Consumer Law gives you.

What MapleSlice is

An independent editorial desk that installs free mobile games set in the ancient world, plays them, and publishes notes about them. Everything here is the opinion of the desk, formed from hands-on sessions and offered as commentary, not as advice. We are not a store, not a publisher of games, and not a substitute for trying a game yourself.

No advertising, no paid placements

MapleSlice carries no advertising and sells no placements. There are no sponsored entries, no affiliate arrangements with the studios named here, and no way for a developer to buy a position on the catalogue wall. Ratings and review counts are taken from each game's Google Play page and reproduced without rounding; the writing around those numbers is our own view, and you are free to disagree with it.

Membership: Free and Plus

Reading MapleSlice costs nothing and always will. Plus is an optional subscription to editorial material — collections, early access to reviews and the full testing notes behind each rating — at A$3.90 per month in Australian dollars.

Card processing is in the activation stage: our merchant application is being processed, nothing can be charged at present, and no billing details are collected anywhere on this site. When processing opens, the subscription will be cancellable at any time, the price shown will be the price charged, and these terms will be restated before the first charge.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)). If a service we supply fails one of those guarantees, you are entitled to the remedies the ACL provides, and information about them is published by the ACCC.

No affiliation

MapleSlice is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google LLC, Google Play, or any developer or publisher named on this site. Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC. Every other product name and mark belongs to its owner.

Intellectual property

Game titles, icons and screenshots reproduced here belong to their rights holders and appear for the purpose of identifying and reviewing those games, as fair dealing for criticism and review permits under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth). The editorial text, the comparison table, the page design and the MapleSlice name are ours. Quote us with a link and we are glad; republish a page wholesale without written permission and we are not.

Accuracy and availability

Store pages change: a rating moves, an update rewrites a game, a title leaves the catalogue. We re-check entries regularly and correct them when a reader points at something stale, but we cannot promise that every figure matches the store at the moment you read it. To the extent the law permits, the site is provided as it stands and we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Links to Google Play

Links to store pages are provided so you can read the source for yourself. What happens on Google Play is governed by Google's terms and its privacy policy, not by ours, and we have no control over the content of the pages we link to.

Acceptable use

Read, quote, print, and share. Do not scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for other readers, do not present our text as your own, and do not represent yourself as writing on behalf of the desk.

Corrections and takedown

Developers and rights holders can write to us about an entry, an image or a claim. We answer within a few working days and, where the point is sound, we correct or remove the material rather than argue about it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you and we submit to the courts of New South Wales, without limiting any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law to bring a matter elsewhere.
